The group is back in full swing.
The Walking Group usually heads off every Monday morning for a four to six mile walk. Often the route is easy, but sometimes there is a bit of uphill work. Usually a map is sent round a few days beforehand by email so that people can decide if the next walk is suitable for them. Several of our wives/partners/children or even grandchildren often join us (but no dogs) and their company is welcome.
Walkers now meet at the start of the walk rather than at Thornton Square as previously. The details are circulated with the map. The walk begins at 10.00 am.
If the weather is bad the walk may be cancelled — generally we are out throughout the year..
As with all Probus events, the whole thing normally ends with food, and we have a long list of good local pubs where we can enjoy lunch and return home for an afternoon nap! If your birthday falls in or around the week of the walk be prepared to buy the first drinks at lunch..!
As Covid restrictions ease, pub lunches are becoming more available.
