Probus Club

History of the club

The Second Macclesfield Probus Club was founded in 1992 by a number of members of the original Macclesfield & District Probus club. In 2022 the two clubs reunited.

Monthly meetings are held in St. Thomas's Church Hall in Henbury.

The enthusiasm and energy of the first members led to a rapid expansion of both the club and its activities, with a number of special interest groups formed over the years – the most recent being "Old Chuffers", a group interested in all things to do with railways (and other means of transport). There are a walking group, a bowling group, and a bridge group. Joining one of these is an excellent way to make new friends and become part of the life of the club. Wives and partners are always invited to the club's social events.
